Rohit Sharma attended India’s press conference on February 5 before the first ODI against England on February 6 in Nagpur. The teams will play a three-match ODI series as preparation for the Champions Trophy 2025, starting on February 19.
But Rohit Sharma was annoyed when a reporter asked about his future after the Champions Trophy. Irritated, he snapped at the journalist for citing media reports.

The Hitman returns to international cricket for the first time since the Melbourne Test. After a tough run in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25, he missed the final Test. Media reports suggested that Rohit may need to submit a transition plan after the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. When asked about this, he firmly replied, saying it’s not his job to comment on every media report.
Rohit Sharma said at the pre-match press conference, “How is it relevant that I talk about my future plans when there are three ODIs and a Champions Trophy? The reports (on my future) have been going on for a number of years, and I am not here to clarify those reports.”
Rohit Sharma added, “For me, the three games (against England) and the Champions Trophy are very important. My focus is on these games, and I will see what happens thereafter.”
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli return to the ODI team. This is their first appearance since India’s tour of Sri Lanka. India aims to continue their good form from the T20I series against England. They won the series 4-1.
