Shami’s five-wicket haul against Bangladesh took his tally to 60 wickets, surpassing Zaheer Khan’s record of 59. While Zaheer reached the milestone in 32 innings, Shami accomplished it in just 19.

This match marked Shami’s ICC Champions Trophy debut. Shami has an impressive ODI World Cup record with 55 wickets across three editions, including 24 in the 2023 tournament.

The 34-year-old claimed his sixth ODI five-wicket haul, the most by an Indian bowler in ODIs. Javagal Srinath and Harbhajan Singh follow with three each.
