Before IPL 2025, another former India coach is set to join Rahul Dravid-led Rajasthan Royals. Sairaj Bahutule will return to the IPL as the team’s spin bowling coach. Previously, he worked at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), now called the Centre of Excellence. Before that, he was part of the Rajasthan Royals staff from 2018 to 2021.
Bahutule was not a permanent coach for Team India. He traveled with the squad on international tours as a stand-in coach. He also accompanied head coach Gautam Gambhir to Sri Lanka.

“The discussions are ongoing, and I’m close to finalizing my involvement with the franchise. There are still a few details to be worked out, but I’m excited to be realigning with the Royals. I’m also thrilled to be reuniting with Rahul. He was the one who introduced me to the Indian team during the last Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in 2023 when I served as the spin-bowling coach. I was also part of his coaching staff in Sri Lanka, so I’m looking forward to our reunion,” Sairaj told Cricbuzz.
Rahul Dravid returned to RR as their coach after coaching Team India. He was part of RR from 2011 to 2013. He played for the team for three years. After retiring, he became RR’s coach. He held the position for two years.
In 2017, Dravid left IPL coaching due to his BCCI role. RR returned to the IPL in 2018. After coaching India from 2021 to 2024, he rejoined RR. Under him, India won the 2024 T20 World Cup.
