Salman Butt said the lights were good. He blamed Ravindra for the mistake.
“Butt was quick to defend the ground’s amenities, arguing that New Zealand batters had no trouble hitting fast deliveries for sixes under the same lighting conditions. He also suggested that Ravindra may have slipped or misjudged the ball, which led to his injury.”
“There’s no point in trying to make people understand when they refuse to. It’s irrelevant. These are some of the latest LED lights that have been installed, and they are perfectly fine. Were the lights not working when New Zealand players hit sixes off deliveries bowled at nearly 150 kph? A fielder standing 70 meters away failed to take the catch due to misjudgment. He is a fine fielder, but perhaps his leg slipped, and he got hurt,” said Butt on Zor ka Jor on Samaa TV on Tuesday.
“As the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 approaches, New Zealand could be dealt a major blow with Rachin Ravindra’s injury. According to New Zealand Cricket (NZC), he sustained a forehead laceration. The board reported that he successfully passed his initial Head Injury Assessment (HIA) and will be closely observed under standard procedures.”
