If the matches are washed out, the team with the higher group stage finish advances.
Highlights:
- India will face Australia in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 semifinal on March 4 in Dubai.
- South Africa will face New Zealand in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 semifinal on March 5 in Lahore.
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 follows a hybrid model, with the first semifinal between India and Australia in Dubai on March 5 and the second semifinal between South Africa and New Zealand in Lahore on March 6. Some matches in Pakistan were disrupted by rain, including Afghanistan’s must-win game against Australia at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
Rain also ended Pakistan and Bangladesh’s campaign without a win, as their final league match was abandoned without a toss after both teams were already eliminated from the tournament.

If a semifinal is washed out, the higher-ranked team from the group stage will advance to the final.
The ICC has allocated reserve days for the Champions Trophy 2025 knockouts.
- Semifinal 1 (March 4, India vs Australia) → Reserve day: March 5
- Semifinal 2 (March 5, South Africa vs New Zealand) → Reserve day: March 6
- Final (March 9) → Reserve day: March 10
If a semifinal is washed out, the group topper advances. If the final is washed out on both days, the trophy will be shared. The final’s venue depends on India vs Australia—if India wins, it will be in Dubai; otherwise, Lahore will host.
