Sarfaraz Ahmed says Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli should decide their future in cricket.Before the Champions Trophy 2025, both faced criticism for their form against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.
Many questioned Rohit and Kohli’s future after India’s heavy Test series losses to New Zealand and Australia.
Sarfaraz Ahmed defended Rohit and Virat. He said, “People should not talk about them. Their performances are outstanding.”He praised Kohli, saying, “Virat has won matches for India. I have seen it with my own eyes.”He also praised Rohit’s leadership, adding, “Rohit led India well in the 2023 ODI World Cup and won the T20 World Cup.”
Ahmed said Virat and Rohit will retire when they feel it’s the right time. Until then, India should build their teams “around them.”

Ahmed said, “Let them play and decide what they want to do. You should build your team around them. The way they bid adieu to T20Is, they will do it for other formats when they feel it’s time. You should not remove them from the team, but include them.”
