Rohit Sharma’s India wants to win the Champions Trophy 2025 . But they must beat New Zealand in the final to claim the title.

All eyes will be on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who have big roles. Their duties go beyond just playing on the field.

Before the big Champions Trophy final against New Zealand, India’s batting coach Sitanshu Kotak shared the team’s mood. He said senior players are guiding the young ones for the big game.

On March 7, Sitanshu Kotak told reporters that senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are guiding the young players to handle the big match pressure.

Kotak said, “Senior players like Rohit, Virat, Jadeja, and Shami always talk to younger players. In team meetings, everyone shares their thoughts. That is priceless.”

Kotak added, “They share 15-20 years of experience with players who have just two years. Some things come with time, but learning from experienced players is valuable. The Indian team is great at this, creating a strong environment. It also helps the support staff, as they handle a lot on their own.”

Kotak was asked about India’s pressure in knockout games, and he explained:

Kotak said, “I don’t think India felt pressure in big games even two years ago. We have won ICC events before. We didn’t win in between, but other teams played well. That doesn’t mean we are under pressure.”

India are the only unbeaten team in the Champions Trophy 2025 , while New Zealand has one loss—against Rohit Sharma’s side. India have the upper hand going into the final. They just need to tick all the boxes and bring home the title.
